Oily Skin: Acne Health Tips

by Sabina Carvalho

If you have oily skin then it's highly likely that you also have acne problems. The reason for this is that oily skin produces more sebum than other skin types which makes it naturally more prone to clogged pores and acne lesions.

The best way of dealing with this problem is to establish a regular cleansing routine. With mild to moderate cases of acne (facial and back acne), a regular cleansing routine can be more effective than over the counter acne creams. However, keep in mind that severe forms of acne should be monitored and treated by a medical professional.

Find out How to Cleanse Oily Skin

If you have oily skin, you can use a soapy cleanser. This does not, however, mean that you can use a soap to cleanse your face. Soaps tend to dry out your skin and are not comparable to soapy cleansers. The drier your skin is the more likely it will break or crack and let in acne bacteria.

Using a soapy, gel cleanser is great for your acne skin type, especially if it contains acne fighting ingredients such as salicylic acid or retinol. Both of these ingredients can help stabilize the production of sebum, balance the rate of cell shedding, and keep debris from clogging the pores.

Contrary to popular belief, you can try a natural acne remedy if you have oily skin. One of the best natural cleansers for oily skin is milk of magnesia which can be used by simply rubbing onto your skin and then rinsing off with warm water.

Follow Up with Toning and Exfoliating

An effective daily cleansing routine will also require the use of a toner, however, if the cleanser you are using is good enough to clean your skin then it won't be necessary to tone your skin. If at any point you decide that using a toner is necessary, make sure that it is alcohol free.

Unlike toning, exfoliating your skin is vital and should never be avoided. The amount of times you exfoliate will depend on your age and skin condition, however, the norm is usually once a week. To exfoliate choose a scrub or use a product with salicylic acid.

A scrub is a mechanical exfoliant while salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliant. Both types of products are a good option, but which you choose will depend on your preferences. Moisturize! Even if You Have Oily Skin

Just because you have oily skin, do not assume that it does not require a moisturizer. The problem with oily skin is an excess of oil, not moisture. With this in mind, choose a moisturizer that is oil free and apply it twice a day.

Acne Creams and Spot Treatments

Any successful acne remedy regime should always include acne creams that can be used for spot treatments. Most people have acne pimples pop-up in the same place from time to time. This is why you need an acne cream to treat specific problem areas.

If you want to treat mild acne, then you should use a natural acne treatment cream made with Helix aspersa muller extract, in other words, BIOSKINCLEAR. BIOSKINCLEAR can also treat scars from acne.
