You Know you Need it! Skin Care Cream Ingredients you Should Look For

by Aileen Fitzharris

Stretch marks and scars are a couple of skin problems that can affect our self-esteem. For this reason, many people search for treatment options that will make their skin smooth and blemish-free again. Fortunately, there are a variety of different options that can help you get rid of these problems.

Some options include surgery, laser therapy, dermabrasion and chemical peels. However, these treatment options may cause irritation and swelling and are known to be expensive, especially if you need more than one session. A more inexpensive alternative are scar creams which can gently treat your scars and stretch marks.

Scar Cream and Their Alternatives

If you prefer using scar creams to treat your skin, there are basically two types you can try: simple scar creams and microdermabrasion creams. The first one uses chemical processes to reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks, while the other uses abrading micro crystals to slowly "sand off" scar tissue.

When treating facial scars it is best that you use a scar cream. Microdermabrasion creams may be too abrasive for some people, so if you prefer you can use this type of treatment on your body instead.

Scar and Stretch Marks Creams & Their Ingredients

Whether you are using a skin care cream for aging skin or blemishes, the product is only as good as the ingredients it contains. And the only way to do this is by reading the product list to make sure you are getting the most for your money.

Rose Hip Seed Oil

For centuries a natural oil has been used as a treatment for scars and as a stretch marks treatment. The ingredient? Rose hip oil. It contains high levels of Vitamins A and C as well as essential fatty acids. It is this precise combination of components that make rose hip oil ideal for scar removal.

This product has long been used for stretch marks treatment although it is also very effective on all types of scar tissue. It is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and essential fatty acids making it an ideal ingredient for reducing the appearance of abnormal tissue. These components help promote the elimination of damaged skin and help boost the growth of new skin cells.

This product can be used in its pure, oil form or as part of a variety of different skin care products, especially those that help treat dry skin. Rose hip oil has also been used to treat other skin problems such as dermatitis and eczema.

Snail Serum

Another natural ingredient that can help with scar removal is snail serum. It contains copper peptides that are known to help increase the rate of skin renewal. Copper peptides also increase the formation of new capillaries, collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans.

Snail serum was rediscovered by heliciculture workers in Chile that noticed their skin was smoother and that their scars would disappear quicker when they came in contact with the snails. The importance of this rediscovery made helix aspersa muller extract (another name for snail slime) an important ingredient in several skin care products.

BERRYSISTIBLE CREAM is ideal for acne scars and scar treatment in general because it contains snail serum. BIOROSEHIPOIL, however, is a pure form of rose hip oil and can be used to help treat stretch marks.
