Natural Skin Care: How to Treat Adult Acne

by Abigail McKenzee

Once you've come out of puberty you never have to worry about another pimple again, however, that isn't true for everyone. A significant percentage of the population develops what is known as adult acne.

Just like in cases of teen acne, there seems to be no particular cause. Many experts say that adult acne is genetic and/or hormonal. Fortunately, there are a series of successful treatment options for all types of acne.

Before you decide that your acne condition doesn't require real attention, keep in mind that untreated acne can lead to acne scarring. I am sure that you would prefer to deal with your acne on a daily basis than have to live with the scars it can produce.

To help you with your fight against adult acne, we will focus on one type of acne treatment: natural skin care.

Natural Acne Treatment

For the most part, acne is treated with a medicated acne cream and a rigorous cleansing routine. However, you can use natural methods to help deal with your acne problems in a gentler fashion.

One very basic rule of thumb, don't pop any pimples or pick at any scabs. Doing either will cause redness and irritation as well as lead to scarring. Also, try to keep your hair away from your face so that you can avoid any transfer of oil and possible bacteria.

Other tips include eating more fruits and vegetables and less fried and junk foods. You should also wash your bed sheets frequently to avoid the transfer of oils and dirt to your skin. Now that we have that out of the way, let's take a look at the natural products that can help alleviate your acne problems.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is gathered from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree which originates from Australia. It is very effective against acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called "terpenes". Acne is often caused by bacteria and the use of terpenes can help destroy or weaken them.

Tea tree oil doesn't cause side effects, however, it can irritate sensitive skin, so be careful.

Aloe Vera

The watery gel from this succulent plant is very effective against acne. It is very rich in enzymes and has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

Honey

Honey has been used as an anti-bacterial product for centuries. Because of its low water content and acidic pH level, it is difficult for bacteria to proliferate.

This is wonderful news for acne sufferers. As mentioned above, acne is generally caused by bacteria. By applying honey masks, you can help eliminate these bacteria.

A good acne treatment is key for preventing acne scars and promoting healthy skin. BIOSKINFORTE is an adult acne cream that contains and revolutionary natural ingredient - snail serum. This amazing natural ingredient has both antiseptic and anti bacterial properties that help eliminate the bacteria that are responsible for causing acne.
