Bodybuilders Get Stretch Marks, Too

by Gabriell Rygh

Women are not the only ones who get stretch marks nor are they the result of gaining weight rapidly. In fact, there is a group that is neither women nor overweight people that is also highly prone to stretch marks: bodybuilders.

Bodybuilders are prone because they rapidly pack on muscle weight, making it difficult for the skin to catch up to the stretching. The rapid increase in the size of their upper arm muscle, shoulder muscle, leg muscle, and pectorals, is what leads to their characteristic striae. If you are interested in bodybuilding or are currently trying to build muscle mass, remember that your routine should include ways of dealing with stretch mark prevention and treatment.

How You Can Prevent Stretch Marks

The best way to deal with stretch marks is by far prevention. If your diet lacks minerals and Vitamin E, you will be more prone to developing this type of scar tissue. Consequently, it is a good idea to supplement your meals with a good multivitamin that contains minerals.

Eat a well balanced diet along with a multivitamin to give your skin extra strength. Don't bulk up during the off-season. A sudden increase in fat is a sure fire way of promoting stretch mark formation.

Unfortunately, in most cases it may be impossible to avoid stretch marks due to bodybuilding.

How to Remove Stretch Marks

Some reports have shown that using Vitamin E can help speed up the healing process. This is why some athletes are known to rub vitamin E on their troubled areas. There are also some creams for stretch marks that can help minimize their appearance.

Another recommended product is rose hip seed oil. This natural oil has been used for centuries to help treat a variety of different problems such as kidney dysfunction, stomach problems and to fight aging. However, it is also a great stretch mark treatment.

There are many reasons rose hip oil can get rid of stretch marks from your skin. It helps accelerate normal cellular growth in the epidermis by stimulating a metabolic change in the skin. The powerful antioxidants and essential lipids that are present in rosehip oil aid skin rejuvenation and help speed up the healing process.

Rose hip oil is made up of high levels of Vitamin C and Vitamin A as well as essential fatty acids. Vitamin C is considered crucial to tissue growth and repair, while Vitamin A is known to help strengthen skin.

When rose hip oil is exposed to sunlight, it produces pigmentation problems, so if you are using this product, try and say out of direct sunlight. If you decide to use this product you can either apply it in its purest form or you can use a stretch marks cream that contains rose hip oil.

Stretch marks are a bother for both women and athletes, especially bodybuilders. BIOBODYCREAM is a natural stretch mark removal product that contains a very special and powerful natural ingredient: Helix Aspersa Muller extract. Its mix of natural ingredients has given way to a wonderful stretch marks treatment that can help you deal with your striae safely and effectively.
