In Search Of The Best Anti Aging Cream

by Jen Hopkins

Each of us have a lust for youthfulness which causes us to yearn for that special cream which grants us our wish, even blinding us to the truth of the product. However, in a new aspect of the present situation, an elder can look as good as a yearling!

The average person can be forgiven if she - or he, for that matter - feels thoroughly confused after even a cursory research pertaining to answer the question: what is the best anti wrinkle cream? With so many creams claiming to be able to magically erase our lines, how do we decide which one is worthy of being taken to the check-out point?

The confusion is due to the wealth of choices. The manufactures are driven to come up with always new combinations of ingredients that claim to be able to diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Yes, we know - or should know by now - that the only wrinkle cream that carries the official stamp of is the good old vitamin A cream, Retinol.

But alas, the great lords' approval of such elixir proves slow in coming. So the elders still wander aimlessly down the aisles trying each new "miracle cream" which seems to seep from several bottomless industries. What madness is it that causes manufacturers to come up with new medicines every day?

The truth is, there are so many ingredients that, applied to the skin, may diminish the appearance of wrinkles that it is difficult to choose only one and claim it gives the final answer to our question - namely, what is the best anti wrinkle cream?

To put honest information in logical terms, Vitamin A creams work well, but it has been proven that creams with AHA (alpha hydroxyl acids), antioxidants based on derivatives of vitamins A, C, and E, coenzyme Q10, collagen or copper work the best. A more recent study has been done on the possible effects of orchid extract. However, it is not possible to put all the ingredients together into one magical wrinkle-reducer.

It is best for anyone looking to reduce the signs of their age to simply alternate between different creams to produce a grand effect. It could only help the fight. And though it is nice to consult with friends and family on products THEY use, it is best to make purchases according to one's OWN skin. No one knows better than it does whether a certain product is right for that person or not.

Having said that, it is also important to emphasise that you will not find a satisfactory answer to the question - what is the best anti wrinkle cream - if you keep buzzing from one cream to the next, potentially even better one. Make an informed choice, and then stick with it for at least three months. People in the know say that the most common cause of an anti-aging cream not fulfilling its promise is that we, the users, do not stick with it long enough.
