Flip Flop Your Way to Style at Hollister's

by Andrea Dilea

Are you looking for casual, trendy clothing styles for the warm days of summer? Hollister Clothing offers informal, laid back styles for the trendy guys and gals. Offering an unfussy, casual clothing line as well as flip flops in many different styles. For about $15 you can purchase a pair of rubber flip flops, or if you're looking for something a little less casual, our leather flips flops are offered for around $30.00. For the young person or the young at heart, Hollister Clothing has something for you.

Finding the right pair of flip flops can be tricky business. Some people even think that it can be an art form in and of itself. It's easy to get distracted on the style, which of course is important, but you want a pair that's going to fit right and be comfortable, first and foremost. A good rule of thumb to remember is that if you can see at least an inch of sole out from your foot, then they are not too small. You want the flip flop to be a bit longer than your foot - but not too much. Because as you walk, you do not wan't your heels or toes to scrape up against the ground.

Some flip flops might not be very comfortable, and may irritate your skin, if they rub the top portion of your feet. Also, notice the kind of strap that the flip flop has. Generally, straps that are made out of rubber have a more snug fit, and are comfortable, when compared to cloth and leather. But cloth and leather can fit well if they are the right ones for your feet.

There are two types of flip-flops; one with a strap that spans across your foot and another with a strap that fits between your toes. With the pair of flip flops with the toe strap, also known as a thong flip flop, you may want to make sure it doesn't injure either of your toes.

Do not buy a flip flop that causes your foot to 'hang over' when you are standing in them. If this happens then the flip flop is too big and could cause you problems when walking. Speaking of walking, when you walk in flip flops keep your feet pointed straight ahead as opposed to pointing outward like a duck or shoved together. Always walk from your heel to your toe. There is no need to slide your feet to keep the flip flops on if they fit the way they should.

Remember to wear flip flops for fun and casual times but not all the time. Flip flops do not support your feet and should never be worn if you have a lot of walking to do. Excessive walking while wearing flip flops can lead to sensitive blisters and sore arches.
