Snowboarding Tricks - What You Should Not Do

by Jessica P

You you decided it is time to start learning some new cool snowboarding tricks right? That's a great idea. You can impress your friends and the girls on the slopes, show off what you got and maybe even form a personal fan club. Alright, maybe you wont gain a fan club, but at least you will look hot out there.

Before you go out there and actually start attempting anything that can be potentially dangerous, do your research and spend some time with more experienced boarders. Keep in mind that there are a lot of things you should not do when it comes to performing your snowboarding tricks. Here are some tips and guidelines you can follow.

Do Not:

Buy boots that are too small for you. When you try the boots on, they should feel comfortable. Too many of us are under the assumption that it is fine if they hurt a some because you will break them in. No. Always purchase boots that fit snugly without feeling like they're too tight.

Start off by buying a long board. Always start out with a cheap board so that you can mess it up without too much fuss.I mean, you are just starting so there is no need to go for the best just yet. Purchasing a long board or a really expensive one isn't a good idea.

Be embarrassed if you fall. Who cares? Do you know how many times professionals like Sean White have fallen? Tons. Everyone falls, it is just something you have to go through if you are going to become really good at any snowboard trick.

Start doing advanced snowboarding tricks too early. Start out slow. The big ones will come later.

Practice alone. Always make sure to have some friends go along with you when you are working on your tricks just in case you get hurt and need some help. It has happened to many people in the past and it will in the future. At the very least, always take a buddy with you.

Alright, so now that you feel as if you've just had a lecture from your mother, get out there and learn some awesome snowboarding tricks!
