Superman Villains - What You Didn't Know About Doomsday

by Jessica P

Ever wanted to learn more about Doomsday? Your chance is finally here. Doomsday made his first appearance on Superman, The Man Of Steel, in 1992. Doomsday was a creation by a scientist from an alien world, trying to create the perfect life form. The process which created Doomsday was the most pity invoking of all Superman villains.

He was placed out as an infant, to die by the vicious atmosphere of Krypton in it's most violent time. He then died as a baby, and was harvested again with whatever was left, to only die again.

Perfection was the goal of this madness, as each time he died and recreated, he came closer to perfection. Doomsday would forever carry the memory of these deaths and eventually force him to detest all living things.

For this most menacing of Superman villains, defeating the entire Justice League was achieved easily, and this caught Superman's attention. He was so powerful, that he was able to defeat the team with one hand bound behind him.

Maxima was the only one of the bunch who could have any chance of defending herself against Doomsday. After Doomsday caught Superman's attentions, the two would eventually battle. Much unlike other Superman villains, Doomsday was more than a match for Superman, and in one battle, they both fought hard and long, with Superman taking serious damage and losing strength quickly. Both of them would continue to fight, neither would concede.

Then, in a historic moment of superhero comic book legends, Doomsday and Superman strike each other at the same time, causing an unforgettable and history making event. Thus, the end of Superman, and the legacy lives on.

Doomsday was taken by a Cyborg, and was sent to a faraway place where readers assumed he would stay, however, this was not the case. Doomsday was to be put together one more time, ever reaching that perfect form.
